Sustainability is at the heart of what we do. Wherever possible we employ the principles of recycle, reuse and repurpose and encourage our clients and trade team to do the same.
The best time to consider house sustainability and building performance is at the initial design stage, as this is when the big ticket issues such as orientation, construction materials, glazing and shading are being addressed and decided upon.
However there are also simple things that can be implemented at the selections stage to improve the performance of a house; for instance roof colour, appliance choice and window treatment type can all make a difference to internal comfort levels and energy bills.
In the GreenDoor office we prefer electronic communication, printing only when necessary on recycled paper with an eco printer. We are water and energy efficient, socially conscious and friendly to all animals, including humans.
